SDSU does have a good hospitality program and the location is great for finding a job after — a large beach city with many hotels. Another option is UNLV (Las Vegas) if you want to do hospitality. It has an excellent program and you can easily work at one of the hotels/casinos while you are in school. It’s a great place to get experience and you’ll also be in close proximity to some of the nicest hotels in the world and the most…let’s say bad motels as well (haha). When picking a school for hospitality, you might want to think about whether you will be staying in that town after college, moving somewhere else, or moving back home. If you’re going to stay in the college town, then do you want to work for a large corporate hotel? A chain restaurant? A local motel or possibly own something? These are all things to think about as well as whether you would want to be by the ocean (SD) or out in the desert (LV).
Good luck! Hospitality is a great major with lots of opportunities : )
